Sighisoara

Here are a few shoths from the medieval city of Sighisoara...
We took these in our 2006 vacation.

I really hope we get the chance to visit the town again and see more details or places we missed this time.

Our vacation in 2006 was more of a road-trip.
We just went driving and visited as much places as we could...

Here is a picture taken near a medieval cemetary wall in Sighisoara... I'll need to write a whole post dedicated only to the medieval city of Sighisoara.

Somewhere on the road, near Brasov. The mountain river side is just meters away from the road. Nice place to stop and calm down after a crazy rally on the sinuous mountain roads.

The massive rock of Caraiman. Pretty nice scenery, except for that electrical cable...

A short smoke stop near Campina. Relax and take a breather, we're just a few kilometers away from Sinaia, one of our intermediate waypoints.
BTW... 1000 RPMs in neutral and yet low oil pressure... man, that was a hot day

A petroleum pumpjack in the south. These things were in motion... kinda made me wonder about the nasty gas prices...

The road is deviated below the railway bridge. Pretty nice view of the train above. The picture was taken by my wife while we were driving (so I would say it came out really, really good - considering the motion and conditions).

Couple of smokers and a mix of instant coffee and coke... this is what I had while taking shots of the sunrise. You can tell I needed something to help me stay up...

This is the hotel we stayed in while at the seaside... it's called "Europa". The nicest thing about it is that all the rooms have a sea-side view. No discrimination.

We missed the seaside... just went for a walk and soaked our feet in the Black Sea.

This is the romanian sea-side sunrise view. I wanted to take this shot for a while now. It wasn't easy getting up and taking these shots. Now that I look back, it was totally worthed.

Gilau - revisited

Am un post vechi din 2006 cu niste imagini din Gilau si imprejurimi - lacul Tarnita... Problema e ca imaginile respective sunt din martie, si paleta de culori este una destul de stearsa...

Am gasit prin "lada de vechituri" unele tot din 2006, insa din iunie. Diferenta e izbitoare, natura era in plina forma...

Rainy Day...

I mentioned in a comment on this post that I'll search for a shot of a rainy day...

Well, I found one from 2006... It was a very short summer rain, huge drops of water were rushing in their way to the ground - when I took this picture it was raining for probably 15-20 minutes and the gutters were pouring out as if a flood was going to happen...


Another 15 minutes later, the rain simply stopped and the sun fully showed its face and then started to set down slowly, leaving an almost spotless pure blue sky.
